I haven't played the game, but seeing this has got me thinking: What if the art pieces we create really do have feelings? After all, art is the artist's emotions given form. This makes me really respect art in general and motivates to improve. Thank you for making this astounding piece.
Gary was a cool character, but I still sympathize with Mary. Technically she didn't nessasairly want him dead, she just wanted a life. She was a trapped in an insane world, scared with no control. She was desperate to leave and in her desperation made poor choice, like many would in her situation. Only two could leave. She wanted a life with Ib. She wanted Gary to stay behind. She was a scared little girl, comforted only by Ib. This particular scene in this photo didn't have to happen. Gary was so insistent upon investigating. He could have just left with Ib, like Ib wanted to, but no. So this particular scene, as far as I am concerened, shows how much of a murder he is. I do like him, but I like Mary a bit more.
What the hell are you talking about? If Garry didn't kill Mary he would of died with Ib because she went insane trying to kill them both. He is no less a murderer than she is, in fact she is much worse.
She made a poor choice, because Gary was intruding upon her room. It was Gary's fault they were even in that situation. They could have just left, and in fact, SHOULD have just left, but Gary wanted to be annoying and stay and snoop around. Gary is as just as worse as she! He refuses to understand the suffering that Mary has been living in that world, a hell she had no control over because her maker wanted to create life, and did, but trapped it in a world that this life found so repulsive that more than anything this life wanted to escape, to live and make friends in a better world. Forever trapped in such an insane place, I would be suprised if her mind WASN'T slightly off its rocker. I mean honestly, she was raised there, in horrors that weren't even touched upon in the game, that were to her common place. She grew up learning that such things were okay. Gary refused to understand this like Ib did, thus Mary did not like him, and wanted only to leave with Ib, which is why she took his flower in a bad end, giving back Ib's. She had no intention of hurting Ib. She liked Ib, a girl the same age as she, who appeared to be fun, and loving. She only wanted friends.
